Day 1 – Journey to the Mountains & Traditional Village Stay

Labuan Bajo – Denge Village – Wae Rebo Village

• 08:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Labuan Bajo

• Scenic drive (approx. 6–7 hours) to Denge Village, passing hills, valleys, and local communities

• Optional stops at viewpoints along the way

• 12:30–1:00 PM: Lunch en route (either packed lunch or local restaurant stop)

Arrival at Denge Village:

• Begin a 2–3 hour trek through lush rainforest to reach Wae Rebo

• Be greeted with a traditional welcome ceremony by the village chief

• Settle into the Mbaru Niang – a communal, cone-shaped bamboo house

• Interact with villagers, learn about their customs, and experience life as it has been lived for centuries

• Traditional dinner prepared by the hosts

• Optional cultural experiences in the evening (storytelling, music, etc.)

• Overnight stay in the traditional house

Day 2 – Morning in the Village & Return to Labuan Bajo

Wae Rebo – Denge Village – Labuan Bajo

• Wake up early to the sounds of the mountains

• Enjoy a simple, local breakfast prepared by your host family

• Spend the morning exploring Wae Rebo and its surroundings

  • Take a guided walk through the village

  • Learn about Manggarai traditions and ancestral beliefs

  • Admire panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and terraced hills

Descent to Denge Village:

• Begin your trek back through the rainforest

• Rest briefly in Denge before continuing the drive back to Labuan Bajo

• Stop for lunch at a local restaurant en route

• Arrive in Labuan Bajo in the evening and return to your hotel
